Terms and Conditions
Payment of your order serves as acknowledgement and agreement of the following
- All cakes and sugar cookies are handmade from scratch. I can not duplicate my own cakes, so each time, they will vary in size and colour.
- All cakes are filled and decorated with vanilla buttercream.
- Other people's work is not replicated but is taken as an inspiration and is customized to your liking.
- All cakes are to be kept refrigerated if not served immediately. It is recommended to take out the cakes 1 to 2 hours before the event and serve at room temperature.
- Since the cake photos were taken under different light exposures, the colour on your screen may look different than the actual colour on the cake.
- All cakes should be cut and consumed on the same day for the best experience.
- All fondant decor is edible under some circumstances.
- Total creative freedom is given to Kaursfrosting.
- All baked goods are made in an inspected home kitchen. I am a certified Food Handler and licensed home baker, so I take cleanliness and food safety very seriously. Please make me aware of any allergies at the time of your order. Your product does NOT contain nuts; however, my home kitchen is NOT nut-free.
- For Specialty cakes such as eggless cakes, I take utmost priority regarding cross-contamination, and I can guarantee they are baked in a safe and clean manner. No animal gelatin is added, and the extracts have no alcohol in them. I truly believe in providing the purest sweet treat that is true by religion or diet.
BOOKING YOUR ORDERS:
1. Once the details are decided, full payment is required to book your date within the next 12 hours of your order request. Your order will not be made without the full payment. For orders above $500, the remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to the pick-up date.
2. All sales are final; no refunds or discounts are given. Any cancellation, raincheck or events postponed may result in an investment of deposit for future orders.
3. Extra charges for rush orders. All prices are subject to change without notice. Baked goods may not be resold at any cost.
4. Changes to your order, including size, flavour or design, will not be accepted less than 3 weeks before the pickup date; changes are subject to additional charges.
5. There is only a 30-minute open window for pick-up; any late arrival is subject to additional charges.
6. I photograph all my creations to share on my social media platform a few days after your event.
Cake & Cookie Care & Transportation
1. Cakes are affected by temperatures, on warm days, please ensure your car is cooled down to the max BEFORE pick up.
2. Cakes should be transported on a level surface, i.e., the floor of the car/truck, to avoid shaking or misplacing the cake.
3. Cakes should never be transported on the passenger seat, in a passenger's lap or in the trunk.
4. Do not leave the cake in the car to run errands, cars heat up very quickly when the AC is not running.
5. Kaursfrosting is not responsible for any damage to the cakes, cupcakes or cookies after it is picked up.
6. While driving with the cake, refrain from breaking hard, turning too fast or accelerating quickly as it may misplace/damage the cake. The toppers may fall off.
7. Once you arrive at the destination, it is best to store the cake in the box in a refrigerator if it is not served within the next hour.
8. Place both hands under the board of your cake to distribute the weight evenly when carrying at all times. The cake boards can flex and bend if not fully supported.
9. If the event is outdoors, refrain from bringing the cake outside until before serving.
10. Kaursfrosting will not be held liable for any damages caused by not following the terms and conditions.
11. Cake servings are based on square slices; a cutting guide can be provided upon request to get the most servings from your cake.
*Additional Sugar Cookies Care*
1. All sugar cookies must be consumed within 2 days of receipt. If you would like to preserve them for later consumption, you may freeze them in their packaging unopened into freezer-safe ziplock bags for up to 1 month. In order to safely thaw sugar cookies and avoid color bleed, please leave the bag at room temperature unopened for 4 to 5 hours or overnight before consuming.
2. Cookies come in clear individual cellophane packaging perfect for giving as favors.
3. Do not press or squish the icing in the bags as it may damage or break the cookies.
